A family’s missing dog was found chained in a Prichard, Alabama, yard nearly three years after vanishing from his home. As reported by NBC 15 News, Simba wandered out of his family’s yard after a gate was left open and he wasn’t seen again…until last Friday when Debra Easley’s granddaughter spotted him chained in someone’s yard.
Easley tells the news agency, “Friday evening, my granddaughter came to me and said, ‘Oh, grandma, guess what! I know where Simba is!'” Sure enough, the chained dog was Simba, and when Easley told the man living at the residence that the dog was hers, he told her just to take him.
Simba was still wearing the same collar that he had on when he vanished…but he had lost weight, gained some scars and was limping. But he was happy to see his owner, who claims that the dog even had tears in his eyes after being let off of his chain.
Now Simba is back at home where he belongs – his owner wants everyone to know that they should never lose faith. She said, “Never give up on your pets! Never! I never gave up on mine, and you shouldn’t give up on yours.”
