Arrest made in case of starved and abandoned dog

Police in Butler County, Ohio, have arrested a man in an animal cruelty case involving a starved dog who was abandoned in a cage. On Friday afternoon, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release stating:

Sheriff Richard K. Jones reports, that after an extensive investigation on the death of a three year old Cane Corso by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Dog Warden’s and Investigation’s Unit

According to the authorities, a tip led to the arrest of Clarence Thomas Jr. Mr. Thomas – he is  charged with Prohibitions Concerning Companion Animals 959.131 F5 (Cruelty) and Abandoning Animals 959.01 M2 and was booked into the Butler County Jail.

Sheriff Jones stated:

We posted this case on social media to get the word out that not only were we looking for the subject responsible for this heinous act but to let offenders know, you can run but you cannot hide.
