Dogs suspected of killing Georgia doctor have been found and seized

Dogs suspected of killing a well-known doctor in Lyons, Georgia, have been located and seized. The Lyons Police Department issued a release about the tragic incident on May 12.

According to the news release, the dogs implicated in the death of Dr. Nancy Shaw, an internist at Meadows Regional Medical Center, were captured last week:

On May 8, 2020, The Lyons Police identified and seized the dogs allegedly involved in the Thursday Morning death of Dr. Shaw. The incident is still under investigation. At this time, charges have not been brought on the owner of the dogs.

Dr. Shaw’s body was found in a ditch last Thursday. The authorities spotted her vehicle on Skyline Blvd around 3 a.m. The door to the vehicle was open and the car was pulled over on the wrong side of the road, with the engine still running.

It is unclear why Dr. Shaw exited her vehicle in the early morning hours – she is described as an “animal lover.” There is speculation that she may have been attempting to help the dogs who ultimately attacked her.
