In North Charleston, an angry ex-boyfriend grabbed a woman’s dog on Wednesday and ran away with him. The man was chased, became angry and “threw the dog like a football” into oncoming traffic. The dog, named Poo was seriously injured.
According to the Charleston Animal Society , Candace Lesston, the owner of Poo, filed a report with police and came to the shelter seeking help.
“Candace didn’t know how bad Poo’s injuries were and didn’t know if she could afford the care he needed. She came to Charleston Animal Society to get help for a dog she considers family. Our medical team examined Poo because he was limping and appeared in pain. When radiographs were taken more serious internal trauma was discovered and Poo was transferred to Veterinary Specialty Care SC. Charleston Animal Society is covering the emergency vet costs through our Caitlyn’s Fund which is for cruelty cases and injuries sustained from abuse.”
A cruelty investigation is currently underway.
