Cat walked 12 miles to return home and owners rejected him

In Raleigh, North Carolina, a cat walked 12 miles to return home to his family, and they rejected him. According to the SPCA of Wake County, Toby the adorable kitty, was given away by his owners to another family, but all Toby could think about was his previous home.

So off he went wanting to go home, and it was no easy trip; 12 miles later Toby returned to his original home, but his family rejected him again and this time brought him to the area shelter asking the staff to euthanize the lonely but loyal kitty. The shelter then notified the Wake County SPCA who came to fetch Toby and promised the shelter they would find him a new home.

On Monday, Toby was adopted! He will now live with another cat and two children.

Thank you all who shared Toby’s story earlier this week. Toby is safe here at the SPCA Pet Adoption Center waiting to find his forever home. He would prefer to be the only cat in his home. We hope his story inspired you to take a stand for animals in need and register for the 2018 SPCA Dog Walk on May 6th. Spcawake.org/walk

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your having your favorites among those to “see first.

Some humans have no humanity. How could they give this sweet cat away in the first place but it is even more despicable to reject him after he showed he knew how to be more loyal and humane then they are.

This family is a piece of you know what. This cat loved them so much that he journeyed 12 miles on his own only to be rejected. What scums they are and then to take it to the shelter to basically be killed. Glad he found a home where he will have another cat to play with and children too. Better off where he will be going.

I would be a Challenge NOT to Want to Euthanize these narcissistic, moronic , soulless, assholes that call themselves human beings… At least they didn’t knock poor little Toby in the head and He is so LUCKY to have someone ELSE that will Cherish his LOVE and DEVOTION… Make sure the couple that were so UNFEELING are “spayed and neutered”!!! They sure don’t need off=spring!!!

why would they want the shelter to euthanize him? just because he came home to them. Let the shelter find him a new home. what assholes. Thank god the shelter had good sense not to do this and found the cat a better home. That cat was too good for them. I agree they should never be able to adopt another pet again!
