Update: Adopted!

On October 16, a senior dog, 14 years of age, was surrendered to the Carson Animal Services Facility in Gardena, California. The elderly dog was wrapped in a towel as she was handed over to waiting shelter staff.

The person surrendering this senior Lhasa Apso allegedly said, “she’s too old.” Whether the man truly meant that the dog was too old, or perhaps, that he was too old to properly care for her any longer, is unknown.

What is known is that this old gal, whose name is “Abby,” is in need of a new home. Abby is most certainly confused, frightened and overall, distraught, after losing her person and her home. Please take a moment to share her adoption information to help her find a new owner.

I’m not an expert on small dogs but she doesn’t look 14 to me. I know that’s irrelevant – she needs a home and that’s what has to be done.

The same thing needs to be done to the elderly POS who dumped this lovely dog.3 of my ex rescue fur children are over the age of 14.My golden retriever has just turned 17.I would NEVER EVER consider surrendering them. They are family. They are for ever. They are everything!I always have and always will put their needs before mine.

I said the same thing when I saw this little dog being dumped. I hope karma bites the ass of this old man and he is sent to the worse nursing home available and is left to die alone. He did the same to this little dog who has been loyal for 14 years and when he needs his person the most he gets dumped. Eye for an Eye!

Please get this sweetie out of Carson’s a.s.a.p. She doesn’t look too old at all. Actually, she does not look 14. She is scared and confused. I wonder if the gentleman that gave her up thought at all about himself. Some day he too will be too old!
