A woman in Homestead, Florida, is accused of choking her child’s puppy. According to the Palm Beach Post, 45-year-old Diana Linares choked the Siberian husky, who belongs to her child, after someone found the six-month-old puppy wandering.
According to the Miami Herald, the troubling incident took place on November 20 after the pup, named “Lulu,” was found wandering near Aviation Boulevard in Marathon. The puppy was returned to Linares, and a witness claims that a man kneed the pup in the chest before Linares began to choke her.
Witnesses were able to convince Linares to let them take the puppy away – Lulu was brought to an area veterinary hospital where an exam revealed that she was suffering from an eye injury which was likely the result of asphyxiation or blunt force trauma.
Linares was charged on Sunday with a misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
