When a small dog was struck by a car in Fulton County, Georgia, one and only one person was kind enough to help. The young man had to dodge the other cars that did not bother stopping for the dog laying in the roadway.
On Thursday, Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs shared the story with Facebook followers, explaining the brave good Samaritan’s actions, and his dismay over the other people’s lack of caring for the dog in the road:
A dog was found hit by a car, laying lifeless in the middle of a busy road. A Good Samaritan rushed to save him from being hit a second time, all while dodging cars that were swerving around his body. The good samaritan was hysterical and disgusted by the fact that no one was stopping to check if the dog was even alive. They were treating him like roadkill.
The young man rushed the injured dog to an emergency veterinary hospital, but staff turned him away because the injured dog was a “stray.” From there, the good Samaritan took the dog to the animal services facility in Fulton County. The rescue agency described the little dog’s pitiful condition, writing:
Blood was pouring out of his nose, his eyes rolled erratically, indicating head trauma, he has broken bones and blunt force trauma injuries to the body.
The rescue agency said:
The Good Samaritan waited outside the shelter with Dolph, begging for help. When Fulton called us, we told them to rush him to the nearest ER immediately. We knew that time was not on Dolph’s side.
Dolph is critical and holding on by a thread.
