A James City County, Virginia mobile pet groomer has been accused of abusing a 13-year-old Pekingese and poodle mix. Kimberly Martin, 30, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty on August 9.
According to the Virginia Gazette, on August 1, a county resident told police his 13-year-old Pekinese had been abused by the groomer, Kimberly Martin in her Groomz mobile unit where the incident is alleged to have occurred. Within a half-hour of being in the mobile unit, the dog developed breathing issues and his tongue turned purple. The owners rushed their dog to their veterinarian where it was determined the dog suffered from broken ribs, bruising, a hemorrhage in one eye and a swollen larynx.
Martin stated the dog had bitten her, and she was not able to complete the grooming. Details have not been made public at this time.
Martin has been freed on bond with a court hearing scheduled for Williamsburg-James City County General District Court on Aug. 21.

NO EXCUSE!!!! She deserves to be charged with this HORRIBLE abuse!!!
Lock her up–with luck she will be brutally beaten!
Charge her that poor dog
Sounds like she tried to choke the dog. If you can’t deal with a little 13 lb. dog use a muzzle! Should be jail time for her!
