On Monday morning, temperatures in St. Louis barely registered 19 degrees; we all know that feeling when our fingers, ears and nose feel the cold, merciless winds, and we can’t wait until we can run inside and warm up in front of the fireplace.
And the weather is forecast to drop into single digits later this week promising to fall as low as 4 degrees at night.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis has called out for help. There are ten puppies on a property from two different litters; one litter is 12 weeks old, and the other litter is about 10 weeks of age. It is not known how many of the puppies are from each litter yet. They are currently, however all living outside.

According to the rescue organization, the owner said there had been a fire on the property that claimed the lives of another mother dog and her litter of puppies. The family is devastated and are trying to do right by pleading for the rescue of the puppies currently on the property.
The adult dogs will be spayed and neutered, and there will be no more puppies.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis is overcrowded at this time, and there is no room for them, but they will rescue all of them – have them examined for their first puppy check up. After that is done, the puppies can leave for foster homes later today or tomorrow.
The older puppies can go to foster care by themselves or in pairs. The younger puppies would do best in pairs. SRSL will provide everything they need; including food, puppy pads, toys, follow-up appointments for upcoming booster vaccinations as well as spay and neuter when age appropriate.
If you have other pets and/or children, that is fine. The puppies will thrive with lots of socialization with children playing with them and other dogs and cats interacting.
Who can help these puppies get into warm homes today? If you have fostered pets before, you’re all set to go, and if not, there is an orientation that can get you ready for this rewarding experience. Please email [email protected].
Please share this plea with friends and family, and please don’t criticize the family. They are trying to do their best.
