In Fullerton, California, a dog from Orange County is still missing on Sunday after having been swept away in a flood control channel Saturday night during the weekend storm.
According to the Fullerton Fire Department, they received a call from a man whose two dogs needed to be rescued. The dogs disappeared near Orangethorpe and Magnolia in the city. One of the dogs and the man were rescued with the use of harnesses, but one of the dogs slipped out of its harness and was swept away.
The fire department tried their best to rescue the man and his two dogs:
Both dogs had harnesses on at the time we attempted the rescue. We attached a rope to both of the harnesses and one of the dogs that ended up going downstream came out of its own harness. We were unable to rescue it.
The man was transported to the hospital. Sadly, the one dog still remains missing and is not expected to have survived.
