In London, Kentucky, Sadie Lou, a seven-year-old Rottweiler-Doberman mix isn’t sharing with her family or rescuers exactly what she has been doing or where she has been for the last four months.
It had been in the blink of an eye on May 16 when Sadie Lou had been sucked out of her home as the family rushed to shelter themselves from the F4 tornado. That night the Carnes family lost their home and one of their beloved pets. Their eight-year-old Husky and nine-year-old cat were later found in the rubble.

Once the Carnes settled into a camper, they began searching for Sadie Lou. Maybe she was disoriented from all the noise and the incredible wind? Sadly, there were no signs of her anywhere.
Now fast forward four months later. The family never stopped searching, but just two days ago, received a report of a possible sighting of their lost dog. With the help of Timing is Everything Search and Recovery, live traps were then set to trap the dog at her last seen spot near the London-Corbin Airport.

It was around 3:30 am, exactly four months after Sadie vanished, when the smell of baby back ribs and cheeseburgers lured her in.
The last few days have been about healing, and Sadie Lou has been receiving treatment from the veterinary hospital. She went from 115 pounds down to 59 pounds and is being treated and refed carefully to avoid complications.

Anyone interested in helping Sadie on her road to recovery can find the family’s GoFundMe information here.
Carnes says she is still missing her cat Ella and her dog Luna. Both ran out of their temporary camper a few weeks after the tornado.
A message for anyone still searching for their lost pet – please don’t give up. Sadie Lou was found four months later TO THE DAY. How cool is that?
Get well soon Sadie Lou.
