In a devastating tornado in Juneau, Wisconsin, the hair on your arms was guaranteed to stand up as a powerful twister swept through Bob Schwandt’s 300-acre farm on Thursday evening.
His farm suffered near-total devastation, but there had been one lucky moment for one of his cows. She miraculously survived having been impaled by a two-by-four.

Thanks to his neighbors, everyone in the area rushed to help. His memories about what happened will probably always be deeply embedded into his mind, but he had been rushing to finish his chores before the storm rolled in. Luckily, he was able to run to his nearby home and survived with no injuries.

Imagine how Schwandt fell seeing the tornado approaching; moments later it touched down leaving behind a complete trail of destruction. And if that wasn’t shocking enough for any human being in the area, one of the farmer’s cows dealt with her own painful experience as a board flew over a fence and impaled her. According to a later post of “X” (previously Twitter) the board was removed, and the cow is recovering.

In addition to destroying Schwandt’s farm, the storm caused significant damage across the entire area, including damaging the Clearview Retirement Home. The tornado also caused an 80-foot silo to tip over onto the barn, destroyed the barn, and damaged the house.
