Lost 7 year old spaniel survived months in the wilderness rescued and back with family

A Welsh springer spaniel who wandered off in the frigid forest of Wales two months ago has been found. The dog’s owners had been taking their dog, Bea for a walk in the “foul” weather in Conwy Valley on December 8, 2023 when the dog went missing. It had been pouring rain, and it soon became impossible to see the paths or spot where the dog had wandered away.

According to the Facebook page, Lost Dogs North Wales Area, volunteers offered to help the couple find Bea, and utilized thermal light cameras and drones. Posters were placed around the entire area, and friends and volunteers searched for the lost canine.

Rescuers went up mountains, around lakes and covered miles looking for clues as to where Bea could have been hiding or needing help. There had been a few sightings, but none panned out or Bea had disappeared before she could be captured.

And then, on Sunday, just about two months from the day she disappeared, a farmer who lived approximately 10 miles away from where Bea was last seen, heard a dog barking in an area crossed with a barbed wire fence. When the man approached, he saw that a dog had been caught in the fence. And as if just finding Bea was a miracle, add these details to this pup’s luck; the farmer was able to free Bea out of the barbed wire without any injuries.

Although it took the farmer about an hour to release Bea from the barbed wire, Bea was so very patient and surely realized this man was helping her.

bea is reunited. so over the moon that bea has been found and is well.

It is not known how Bea survived for the past two months, and she does seem to be in good health. Her owners, Adam and Rachel welcomed their dog home, and Bea quickly readjusted to her home as if she had never been lost. Her owners did say Bea is a very calm and good natured dog.
