The deaths of four University of Idaho students, Kaylee Goncalves, Maddie Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin on November 13, digs deep into all of our hearts. During that horrible discovery, police officers found Kaylee’s dog, Murphy, unharmed inside of the third-floor bedroom. Since then, Murphy has been cared for by Kaylee’s ex-boyfriend, Jack Ducoeur.

In a new Instagram account with @murphy@goncalves, that began about a week ago, has already garnered more than 99,000 followers. On it, Ducoeur shares the one-year-old adorable pooch’s new adventures and a few loving photos of Murphy’s past with Kaylee.

The couple had adopted the goldendoodle while they were together, and even though the two had broken up after their five-year relationship, friends and families thought the couple would eventually reunite. Many people agreed that Jack never stopped loving Kaylee and had always hoped they would get married and settle down.

Until the arrest of Bryan Kohberger, many people had been pointing suspicion at Ducoeur; those accusations had left Jack heartbroken.

Kohberger is currently being held without bail. His attorney says his client plans to plea not guilty.

I love chasing geese, but when there’s a big group of them sometimes I get a little scared.

I could really use a lazy day with momma. Missing my mom every day, but trying to live my best life. I got to admire her beauty in the sky this evening.

Comments have been very supportive and loving about Kaylee, and now the new account and photos of Murphy are hopefully helping to heal broken hearts.
