A woman is being investigated for attempted murder after she dropped her toddler 16 feet into a bear’s enclosure at a zoo in Uzbekistan. According to sources, the three-year-old child suffered injuries after her mom dropped her, but not from the bear, who did nothing more than walk over to sniff the child, before walking away.

The bear, Zuzu, was led away from the little girl by staff who rushed in to help. The child was carried out of the enclosure and hospitalized for bruises, cuts and a concussion.

Nobody knows what prompted the woman to drop her little girl into the bear’s enclosure and staff are grateful that Zuzu did not view the child as prey. According to the New York Post, the woman was detained by the authorities and could face up to 15 years behind bars if she is convicted.

  1. This has to be one of the poorly written articles I’ve ever read. It doesn’t state where this happened. You also can’t be charged with murder if no one died. You can’t be charged with attempted murder if there is no expectation of death. How about getting your facts straight before you publish an article.

    • Dropping a toddler 16 ft onto concrete into an enclosure with a brown bear does carry an “expectation of death.” Maybe if it was 2 ft onto foam with some rabbits, “no expectation of death,” but that wasn’t the situation here.

  2. I don’t understand WHY anyone would do this cruel act to anyone else (let alone a trusting toddler)???

I think this little one should not be returned to the mother until after she has been given a full psychiatric evaluation (& passed)…….

I understand that this happened in Eastern Europe but parents are parents all over this planet (& most treasure their children and want the best lives for them)…….

Thank goodness the bear was well fed, not interested in the child and was able to be led away by zoo keepers!!!
