On Sunday evening, a Phoenix, Arizona, woman hurled her dog into a canal after the pooch bit her. As reported by AZ Family, 67-year-old Ruth Robbins is now facing a felony animal cruelty charge.

Robbins was trying to put a harness on her Chihuahua/pug mix when the dog bit her – either out of anger or frustration, Robbins picked up the dog and threw it into a canal. Someone who witnessed the incident was able to get the dog out of the water, but the dog bit the witness as well and then ran off. The dog has not yet been found.

Robbins was booked into jail and then released on her recognizance.
