Man charged after throwing puppy into oncoming traffic

A Mount Vernon, New York, man is accused of throwing a puppy into oncoming traffic, causing the puppy’s death. As reported by Fox 5 News, 34-year-old Thaddeus Jones was charged with aggravated animal cruelty after throwing a pit bull puppy into traffic on May 14; the incident took place in Yonkers while Jones was in a car with the puppy’s owner.

The news agency reports that Jones grabbed the puppy when the driver pulled to the side of the road. Jones allegedly hurled the puppy into oncoming traffic, causing its death.

Jones is facing additional charges for allegedly giving the police fake identification and for being in possession of methamphetamine. He is due in court on July 22 to face the charges stemming from the May 14 incident.
