Late last week, a truck driver from Tennessee was observed beating a dog with a metal wrench at a New York state rest stop. As reported by Syracuse.com, 49-year-old Terrence Holmes was arrested for animal cruelty after witnesses called 911 to report the abuse that was happening at the Chittenango rest stop.
The authorities were told that Holmes was observed repeatedly striking the dog, a husky mix, with a metal wrench. The dog was taken by a town of Sullivan Animal Control officer and treated by an area veterinarian. She suffered multiple injuries to her face and head but is expected to recover.
Holmes, her owner, is due in court on March 22.
