Spring, TX – On Tuesday, 27 German shepherds, including 13 puppies from two litters, were rescued from an elderly owner who got overwhelmed by the number of dogs in their care.

According to the Houston Humane Society, some of the dogs were found to be suffering from skin problems and all of the canines will stay with them until they no longer require veterinary care.

The shelter said that nursing mothers and babies will be kept together until weaning age.

The shelter is hopeful that the community will step up to help cover the expenses generated by this rescue effort:

These beautiful animals are in safe hands now, and we will need your support to help rehabilitate, raise, and vet these dogs and puppies.
