A senior dog, taken in as a stray at the San Bernardino City Animal Control in California, is so terribly matted that he can barely walk. The 10-year-old dog’s advocate writes:

So severely matted, he can hardly move. It’s very painful for him.

The dog, described as a Shih Tzu, has been at the animal control agency since June 26.

This poor old boy has been neglected, and now he is sitting at an animal control agency, hoping against hope that someone can see past his matted fur, and into his inner beauty. Will you please help this dog find a new family? Networking saves lives by increasing a homeless pet’s visibility!

  1. That poor precious little treasure??? My heart is breaking for him….. He needs to be shaved so he can move properly. He could have maggots or fleas, ticks, and/or skin infections or circulation cut off to his legs under all that ”matted hair”…,,, someone could have kicked him out of the home or dumped him into a strange (to him) neighborhood or he’s lost and been on the streets for a very long time……. In any case, all this matted hair is a huge problem & should be addressed ASAP!!!
If I lived in the area, I would come and get him to a vet ASAP for a health check and to get the matted hair removed…….
I hope someone local can open their heart and home to help this precious little treasure.
If he can travel to Washington state, I have room for 1 more rescue (our city limit is 5 dogs & I already have 4 small rescues)……
