A 21-year-old Texas man has admitted to killing his family’s cat in an apparent fit of rage. As reported by KSAT News, Dominic Cantu has been formally charged for the cruel incident, which happened on Sept. 24.
Cantu is accused of first attacking the cat with his fist on Sept. 23 – the feline survived the initial attack and Cantu’s mother ordered him to leave the home. But when the man returned home the following day to get his belongings, he saw the cat and launched a fatal attack which involved hitting and stomping. After the cat died, Cantu put its body in the trash.
When Animal Care Services officers were notified and confronted the man about the cat’s death, he admitted to what he had done. Cantu’s trial date has not yet been made.
