Terrified, mostly blind, dog surrendered to animal shelter

A terrified, mostly blind, dog is trying to make sense of her world after being surrendered to an animal shelter in Paris, Texas. On Tuesday afternoon, the Paris, TX Shelter Adoptables Facebook page posted a photo of the now homeless dog, writing:

Terrified, “Pretty Girl,” was owner surrendered today. She is mostly blind and will require an experienced home or rescue for special needs dogs.

Losing all that is familiar is hard on any dog, but especially traumatic for a dog with a visual impairment. A person willing and able to take in this special needs dog is urgently needed.

Can you help?

If you live in the area, please consider opening your home to Pretty Girl. You can call 993-784-6774 to inquire. Please reference identification #54376.

What a gorgeous lady!!! If I were local I would take her in a heartbeat!!! Blind dogs are exactly the same as sighted dogs.

We have a blind dog who doesn’t know he’s blind. He plays, begs for treats, tries to steal food, loves car rides, jumps on the sofa, jumps off the sofa….. loves Grammy & Grampy, loves to snuggle, HATES bath time, HATES the vet with a passion……
