A Florida man has been arrested and is facing a felony animal cruelty charge for allegedly decapitating a family cat. According to multiple sources, the cat killer is identified as 22-year-old Joshua Daniel Pena-Cedillo, of Clearwater.

Pena-Cedillo told the authorities two different versions of how he killed the family cat, whose name was Cinnamon. In one version, the man stated that he put the cat into a plastic bag and suffocated her, in the other version, he strangled the feline.

After Cinnamon was dead, Pena-Cedillo cut off her head with an ax and then tried to “impale it” on a stick, reports Metro News. When impaling the head on a stick didn’t work, he resorted to taping the head onto the stick. Adding to the twisted and bizarre behavior, Pena-Cedillo cut off the head of a stuff animal and put it on a stick next to the real cat’s head.

According to Clearwater Police, ‘When asked why he did it, he said he wanted to show someone living with him what he was capable of.’

The man was booked into Pinellas County Jail on a felony animal cruelty charge.
