A dog starved to death in the garage of an Elyria, Ohio, home and his owner is facing animal cruelty charges as a result. As reported by Cleveland 19 News, Anthony Jackson II is accused of allowing his dog to starve to death in the garage after the dog “messed with” his marijuana plants.
Jackson had previously rented the house and the horrible discovery was made when the landlord went to the house last Wednesday after Jackson moved out.
The authorities had to question Jackson at the Lorain County Jail, where he was being held for an unrelated drug charge. Jackson admitted to putting the dog in the garage, for “messing” with marijuana plants in the house, but claims that he believed the dog ran away after a break-in.
The incident has resulted in a cruelty to animals for Jackson, who remains behind bars.
