A skeletal dog, barely clinging to life, was found this week in a dumpster in Mississippi. Someone with cruel disregard for the dog had literally thrown her away like unwanted trash. On Thursday, Second Chances Animal Rescue, in Pontotoc, posted to Facebook about the pitifully neglected dog:
We had the privilege of meeting this beautiful girl yesterday at our vet’s office. She was found in a dumpster, barely clinging on to life. She is doing well, considering. But she has a long battle ahead of her. What did she do to deserve this? Nothing. She was simply unlucky enough to be born in a state where it is ABSOLUTELY LEGAL to treat a living, breathing, loving creature like trash. Trash!!
Adding a few words about the importance of altering pets:
This is why I constantly promote spaying and neutering. For her. So there aren’t any more unwanted babies thrown away like their life doesn’t matter. Because it does 😞.
The dog is in the care of the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society – any donations for her care should be made to: www.tupeloleehumane.org or call 662-841-6501 (Please reference dumpster dog).

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you have to do more than just “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
