A Baton Rouge, Louisiana, man has been arrested for allegedly stealing and shooting his ex-girlfriend’s dog. According to WBRZ News, the alleged dog killer is identified as 36-year-old Patrick Lungley.
The heinous crime
Lungley is accused of stealing his ex-girlfriend’s dog and then sending the woman a photo of the dog after he shot it. The crime was reported to the police on June 8 by the woman whose dog was taken and killed.
The reason behind the cruel situation
Lungley is accused of carrying out the cruel crime because he wanted his ex-girlfriend to break up with her current boyfriend. The man also allegedly threatened to hurt the woman if she didn’t break up with her boyfriend. On June 15, the woman reached out to let the police know that Lungley was threatening her again – when officers arrived, they heard Lungley threaten his ex and admit to killing her dog.
The resulting charges
Lungley’s actions have resulted in multiple charges, including aggravated cruelty to animals, theft, stalking and telephone communications; improper language. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
