A Florida woman can thank her dog’s veterinarian for helping her to escape from her boyfriend who had been holding her captive at gunpoint. On Saturday, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office stated the woman had been held captive for two days when she managed to slip a note to the vet:
“Call the cops, my boyfriend is threatening me. He has a gun. Please don’t let him know.”
Caroline Reichle, 28, had been in bed all day on Thursday because of a head injury incurred after her boyfriend had beaten her, but had been able to convince him on Friday afternoon to allow her to take the dog to the DeLand Animal Hospital. The boyfriend agreed, but insisted on accompanying her – carrying a loaded handgun. On the drive to the vet, her boyfriend threatened to kill her and her family.
After receiving the note, a staff member called police. DeLand police arrested Jeremy Floyd, 39, a convicted felon. He has been charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault with a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and simple battery.
Floyd is currently being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond.

Oh thank God she got help. Good thinking on her part and thank you to the vet who did what was needed. this vet saved two lives. Her and her dog. who knows what this crazy person would have done to her or her dog.
Thank God she was able to get help !
Thank God she got help.
Glad she and her dog are safe now God bless
Savage, barbarian maggots like this male should be castrated but preferably exterminated for they will NEVER change. Once an abuser, always an abuser who will most assuredly escalate it’s violent acts.
I hope they keep this POS in jail without bond. I shudder to think what he will do if he is able to get out. I’m glad the vet took her note seriously and did what was necessary to save her and her dog. What a horrible ordeal for Ms. Reichle, I ‘m so glad she is safe for now.
Good thinking on Her Part:: and thankfully the Vet and his Staff were First Class and stepped up to the plate… There are so very many that don’t want or are afraid themselves to step up and assist someone in dire straits, and they will walk away!!! This “NUT BALL” needs to be placed in and environment Where he has NO ACCESS to gun, knives, ropes, matches, gasoline, chainsaws, AND AIR!!!
Thankfully she had idea to slip the vet the note. The bastard needs to be locked away for life.
Thank god she got the idea to give the vet the note. The bastard needs to be locked away for LIFE
DRAT .. sorry about the dbl comment!!! The first one didn’t show up at first. Not sure why it was delayed like that
Our justice system at work, what was this person doing out of jail if he was a convicted felon? Evidently he was not rehabbed in jail and his previous sentence was too short.
Lock the piece of shit up forever
