A woman in Oklahoma City was forced to watch her beloved service dog die after violent intruders broke into her home just after midnight on Sunday. According to KFOR News, the victim, Gabrielle Wooldridge, was assaulted by three men and a woman who kicked in the door to her apartment.
Wooldridge tried to save her German shepherd, “Dutch,” who was shot in the neck – but the dog’s fate was sealed after the intruders shot him a second time, despite Wooldridge’s pleas for the criminals to shoot her instead. She tearfully explained to told KFOR:
“I wouldn’t let go of the stairwell and they said we’ll shoot your dog again if you don’t let go and I said, ‘well, then’, I was like, ‘me or the dog. Choose one,’ and they were like ‘we’ll shoot the dog again.’ I said, ‘no, choose me. Shoot me.’ I laid by that dog my whole life. Shoot me.’ They wouldn’t shoot me. They shot my dog again.”
Dutch was killed and Wooldridge was injured…the police have little to go on, aside from the victim’s description of the intruders as three black men and a black woman. Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities.
