An Irish man has just been convicted for a heinous crime which claimed the life of a border collie named “Jess,” who was purchased on Facebook. According to Wednesday’s BBC News, 27-year-old Dominic O’Connor, of County Down, strangled the dog with a lead and then cooked the dog with some onions before feeding the dog meat to another dog.
As reported by the Irish Times, the meat from the four-year-old dog was fed to O’Connor’s own dog, Shadow, last December. O’Connor, who reportedly suffers from a “personality disorder,” recounted his shocking actions to officers, “I strangled it with the shorter lead. Then I cut it up and cooked some of it and fed it to the dog and put the rest of it on the fire.”
A friend of the dog killer has stated that O’Connor was “happy” after the killing – she noted that he seemed almost “joyful” after Jess was killed. It took the jury less than “300 seconds” to unanimously find O’Connor guilty.
