A man in Belleville, Illinois, is accused of a heinous act of animal cruelty which left an innocent kitten dead. According to Monday’s KMOV News, after a security officer at the Belleville Station MetroLink told 23-year-old Decalos Edwards Johnson-Foston that he could not take his kitten onto a train, the man allegedly threw the kitten to the ground and then stopped on the kitten’s head before walking away.
St. Clair County Sheriff’s Capt. Bruce Fleshren commented on the horrific incident:
“Actions like this are so senseless, it is hard to comprehend at times. If you cannot or will not take care of an animal, please take it to the nearest shelter for proper care,”
Johnson-Foston left the train station and boarded a bus – he was picked up, and arrested, later. The accused kitten killer was taken to the St. Clair County Jail.
Anyone who witnessed the cruel act is asked to call the St. Clair County Sheriff’s investigators at 618-825-5204.
