The driver of an SUV is accused of intentionally running over, and killing, a service dog in Alabama. According to Friday’s AL.com News, someone driving a black SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, hit the dog around 8 p.m. along the 1800 block of Geneva Highway in Enterprise on Thursday night.
According to witnesses, the dog died when the driver of the vehicle hit the dog, then drove back and apparently struck the dog on purpose once again – the dog had been standing near the road by his home. According to the Enterprise Ledger, the dog, named “Bullit,” was nine years of age and had been Hailley Allen’s service dog for seven years. Allen told the Ledger, “I just want them to come forward and look me in the face and say they actually did it and say why they did it. I want them to see just how bad it’s hurt me.”
The individuals who were inside of the vehicle are described as two white males – they fled the scene after killing the service dog. The Enterprise Police Department is investigation the tragic situation – anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 334-347-2222.
