A desperate search is underway for a beloved dog who ran away while being cared for by a pet sitter in Long Island, New York. According to CBS New York, Mary Ellen Humphrey’s family vacation to a Disney resort was cut short after she received a call that her one-year-old dog “Buddy” was missing.
Buddy had been left with a pet sitter hired through Wag. On Wednesday, the Lab/Beagle mix managed to push open a door at the residence in Massapequa, and disappeared. The woman hired to care for him is distraught.
Wag is stepping up to help Buddy’s family find their missing pet – in fact, they have hired drone pilots to search for the runaway dog, in addition to posting 1,000 fliers and notifying the authorities about Buddy’s disappearance. Additionally, the company has offered a $1,000 reward for Buddy’s safe return. Anyone with information about the missing pup should call 818-527-2498.
