A desperate search is underway for a beloved dog who ran away while being cared for by a pet sitter in Long Island, New York. According to CBS New York, Mary Ellen Humphrey’s family vacation to a Disney resort was cut short after she received a call that her one-year-old dog “Buddy” was missing.

Buddy had been left with a pet sitter hired through Wag. On Wednesday, the Lab/Beagle mix managed to push open a door at the residence in Massapequa, and disappeared. The woman hired to care for him is distraught.

Wag is stepping up to help Buddy’s family find their missing pet – in fact, they have hired drone pilots to search for the runaway dog, in addition to posting 1,000 fliers and notifying the authorities about Buddy’s disappearance. Additionally, the company has offered a $1,000 reward for Buddy’s safe return. Anyone with information about the missing pup should call 818-527-2498.

Pray that Buddy is found and ok. Horrible if someone has him and wants to keep him. Hopefully Buddy will be seen and someone will find him.

I hope and pray that they find Buddy safe and sound. From the sounds of it, Wag is doing what they can to help the family find the lost pet. some pet sitters aren’t so helpful!

Buddy is obviously a beloved family member whose humans have gone to great lengths to get him back – I truly hope he is found safe and sound – and will never hire this incompetent sitter again.
