The authorities are searching for a teen who allegedly threw a puppy out the third story window of a residence in Trenton, New Jersey. According to Friday’s NJ.com, a four-month-old American Staffordshire terrier, named “Dutchess,” suffered serious injuries after 19-year-old Anthony Matlock hurled her out the window.
The incident took place on September 21 in the midst of a domestic dispute. After being thrown from the window, Dutchess was located by firefighters in the basement of a “dilapidated” building next door.
Dutchess is recuperating from the incident at the Center for Animal Referral and Emergency Services in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. On Friday, the veterinary hospital updated Facebook followers about the puppy who is in their care:
This poor puppy is making a remarkable recovery at CARES after a man is charged with throwing her out of a third-floor window. CARES Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon Dr. David Puerto and CARES Nurse Michelle talk to the media about “Khloe” and how she is now receiving all the love and care she needs to heal and have a happy life.
The teen who is wanted by the police is facing a third-degree animal cruelty charge when he is found. WSET News reported that over two dozen puppies (English and French bulldogs) were also found in a cooler, and cages which were full of excrement.
