According to Wednesday’s publication of Livingston Daily, the body of a skeletal dog was discovered in a dog food bag dumped along a road in Fowlerville, Michigan, on Saturday. The dog, described as a seven-year-old male beagle, was discovered in an area where three other beagles were running loose.
A good Samaritan found the dog inside of the dog food bag and called 9-1-1 to make a report. Now, a $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the apparent crime.
Michigan Humane Society President Matthew Pepper stated:
“Starving an animal to death is especially cruel. Along with the LCAC, we work to give voices to the innocent animals in our communities who suffer from the brutality of callous humans. While justice is important for this poor door, it is also important that we recognize that violence toward animals can evolve into violence toward people.”
The Michigan Humane Society is working hand-in-hand with the Livingston County Animal Control to investigate this disturbing situation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to reach out to the Livingston County Animal Control at 517-540-7514 or email [email protected].
