On Saturday, rescue personnel at the Suffolk County Police Department responded to a 911 call after a black horse got herself trapped in a backyard inground pool in Bohemia.
The horse had walked on the pool cover, sank down and couldn’t get out. The Bohemia Fire Department and Emergency Service Section officers were able to rescue the horse from the deep end through the shallow end.
The horse named Penny, is a three-year-old mare and luckily was not injured. She lives at the residence. The filly took a photo with her rescuers.
Many thanks to the heroes who rescue those who have no voices.
