A therapy dog, named Digby, played an important role on Wednesday, saving a woman who wanted to jump off a bridge over a highway in the United Kingdom.
According to the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS), Digby normally helps firefighters to “diffuse” when dealing with trauma. When a suggestion was made to bring the three-year-old Labradoodle to the scene where the woman had been precariously perched on the bridge, and the situation was worsening, Digby made a most welcome appearance.
“When Digby arrived, the young woman immediately swung her head round to look, and smiled. This got a conversation started about Digby and his role at the fire service. She was asked if she would like to come and meet Digby, which we are pleased to say she did.We wish the woman involved all the best in her recovery.”
