Rescue community joins together to save senior dog with large growth

In Gulfport, Mississippi, a rescue community came together to help a 12-year-old dog with a huge tumor on his leg to be evaluated and helped if possible by Lakeview Animal Hospital.

Tired Dog Rescue has stepped up and volunteered to help after having been contacted about the senior pup spotted in the Biloxi area on Tuesday afternoon.

I just drove to see about rescuing him and was able to find him sitting in front of his home; spoke with the owner and Tired Dog Rescue has agreed to get Brownie seen by our vet.

An incredible support system was able to come together earlier in the day, after Brownie had been found, and it was clear he needed veterinary care. Animal advocates and rescuers were able to coordinate efforts to help.

The rescue organization is sponsoring Brownie’s trip to the vet. The owner has been located and says his dog is 12 years old; and he has had him since he was a puppy. The owner does not want to surrender Brownie, but he has expressed how very appreciative he is for the help. He also wishes to go with Brownie to the vet.

Tired Dog Rescue strives to find homes for dogs in need, build quality relationships with responsible owners and help to keep pets with their owners by helping to seek solutions to financial hardships.
