A Seattle, Washington, man who drove to Stevens County to visit a friend earlier this month is missing. As reported by Fox 13 News, family and friends knew something was amiss when his dog, Bear, was found “dehydrated and hungry” 60 miles from his last known location.

On August 10, 42-year-old Trevor Bresnahan traveled to the town of Wilbur with his dog, Bear, to visit a friend. His mother, Brenda, spoke with Trevor on August 11, and then she heard nothing for the next week. She knew something was terribly wrong when a stranger called on August 17, telling her that Bear had been found wandering on Springdale-Hunters Rd in Stevens County, in an area more than 60 miles from Wilbur. Bear was not hurt, but he was dehydrated and hungry.

On August 20, Brenda turned to social media for help, explaining where Bear was found, and asking for others to be on the lookout:

He left last Wednesday August 10 for Marcus to visit friends in the surrounding area of Wilbur and possibly colville. He took his dog Bear with him. I was called Wednesday the 17th by someone saying they found Bear on Springdale Hunter Rd.My Son Trevor Bresnahan has not been found nor his Maroon Hyundai Accent 2006 or 08 with a lime green hood and bumper. If you see him or his car please call Stevens county Sheriff Office 509 684 5296 case#2208664

Brenda immediately drove to pick up Bear and she has made it clear that her son would never abandon his dog. Anyone who has seen Trevor, or this car, is asked to reach out to the authorities.
