On Monday, witnesses to a violent animal cruelty incident reached out to the Clearwater, Florida, authorities. According to the Clearwater Police, 20-year-old Noah Counts was observed kicking a puppy, dragging the pup by a leash, and throwing the puppy over a wall. In a release, the authorities stated:

On Monday, officers arrested Noah Counts, 20, of Dade City for animal cruelty for an incident on Clearwater Beach. Multiple witnesses saw Counts kick a 3-month-old puppy in the face, drag it by its leash and throw it over a wall.

According to the news release, Counts told an officer that he was upset with the puppy because it had eaten food that did not belong to him.

In addition to a charge of animal cruelty, officers cited Counts for other ordinance violations, including having open containers of alcohol and a charcoal grill on the beach; he was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
