When a sick horse had to be rushed to a large animal veterinary hospital in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India last week, the horse’s bonded sibling became very distressed to have been separated. Watching her sick sister being loaded into the ambulance, Agaka couldn’t bear being kept apart, and ran nearly five miles behind the ambulance without stopping.

Following the posting of the viral video, hundreds of comments have confirmed that humans are not the only ones to show incredible emotions and ties with each other.

At the beginning of the video, a horse lying down and apparently in dire need of veterinary care is shown in the barn. Shortly after, Agaka is seen running after the ambulance and weaving through traffic as cars and motorbikes swerve to avoid hitting the horse. Where there have been hundreds of comments about Agaka’s dangerous journey as she followed the ambulance, the lack of supervision and her owners not coming to her rescue, as well as the dangers to both the horse and humans alike, most of the comments concentrated on Agaka’s loyalty to her sister.

The good news – Agaka found her sister at the veterinary hospital and calmed down.

We do not know if her sister survived.
