A Kentucky-based rescue group is hoping to find the person responsible for shooting a cat named Andy with an arrow. Miraculously, Andy survived the traumatic incident, but not without serious injury. The Arrow Fund first alerted the public to the cruelty case three days ago, posting images of the cat and writing:

CODE RED! SHOT WITH ARROW! Andy is currently being rushed to the nearest emergency hospital. This injury is life-threatening – we will update with more information as soon as possible.

According to a release from the rescue group, Andy was found in Lebanon. The agency is offering a $2,500 reward, sponsored by John Ridgill, the owner of Louisville Tree Service, Inc., to find and prosecute whoever did this to him.

Mark Shircliffe, The Arrow Fund’s executive director said in the release:

A cat cruelly shot with an arrow is tragically reminiscent of the genesis of The Arrow Fund. Our organization was founded in 2013 on a horrific case of a dog shot with an arrow and left to wander in eastern Kentucky. The Arrow Fund was able to provide that dog, named Aiden, the lifesaving care he desperately needed.”

Andy’s prognosis looks “promising.” Anyone with any information is asked to call Sergeant Tom Abell with the Lebanon City Police Department at (270) 692-6205.
