On Sunday, actor Travis Van Winkle saved his dog from a frightening coyote attack at Griffith Park, in Los Angeles, California. Van Winkle (fans of the psychological drama, You, will likely recognize him from season 3) warned his Instagram followers to be on the lookout for the hungry predators after two of them tried to grab his dog, Karen, while the pair were hiking.
Van Winkle explained that he slid down the mountain, screaming at the top of his lungs to scare the coyotes away – they were so close that he literally thought that one of them got ahold of his dog. He was clearly rattled by the frightening encounter and shared his experience to help other park visitors avoid a similar encounter with their own dogs.
In a subsequent video, the coyotes that tried to nab his dog were shown – they appear to be “well-fed.”
