People caring for a cow, injured after falling from a trailer last Monday, had to say good-bye days after there was hope of her recovering. The cow tumbled out of a trailer on the interstate near Highway 176 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, early Monday morning…whoever was driving apparently did not realize that the cow fell from the trailer that was being towed.

The fall left the cow with cuts, abrasions, and nerve damage. Dr. Rachel Lane from Orchard Hill Veterinary Clinic helped get the animal off of the roadway, and there was initially hope that she could be nursed back to health, but her injuries proved to be too much to overcome.

Two days after she was rescued, the Orchard Hill Veterinary Clinic alerted Facebook followers that the cow had passed away:

COW update:
It is with a heavy heart that we announce she has passed.
The damage she received from the fall was just to great to over come.
Thanks to everyone who offered help.
Special thanks to Holly Hickman Baughcome DC for her chiropractic efforts with COW and running to retrieve items at the store.
Thanks to Moses Tree Service for helping with their boom truck.

Rest in peace.
