Michigan – At 19 years of age, Meatball finds himself in need of a new home. The elderly cat was surrendered to the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society because his former owners could no longer care for him.

On Friday, the animal welfare agency shared Meatball’s heartbreaking story, writing:

Meatball is likely the oldest cat who has ever been surrendered to our shelter (at least in recent history) and our heart breaks for this sweet boy who seems very sad and depressed.

The shelter staff hopes to find a quiet, peaceful home where Meatball can spend the remainder of his life.

Are you interested in bringing this old boy home? The shelter writes:

We are hopeful that there is someone out there who will consider making Meatball a part of their family. Stop by for a visit (his adoption fee is waived thanks to Empty the Shelters!) with this sweet boy or contact our shelter for more information about him at 231-347-2396.
