An animal cruelty investigation is underway in Terre Haute. Indiana, following the discovery of a dog who was shot in the head. The pit bull, dubbed Case, underwent surgery at Farm & Family Veterinary Service, and despite being shot with a 9 mm bullet, he is recovering “well.”
OTIS Indiana initially shared the cruel situation on social media, writing:
Case was posted to a Terre Haute pets lost and found group on May 9th after he wandered up to someone’s apartment building looking for help. I was tagged and immediately noticed that the dog had a major issue going on with his head/left side of his face, so I tried to assist from afar by tagging other animal welfare professionals in the area. Case needed professional veterinary care.
Case continues his recovery at Ollie’s Canine Campus, and the agency is hoping to find whoever is responsible.
