A dog whose temperature climbed to 106-degrees, and nearly died from heatstroke, is now ready to be adopted to a new home. According to multiple sources, three-year-old Rocco has recovered from his brush with death and he is ready to get started on the rest of his life.
As reported by WCVB News, Rocco was surrendered to Boston’s Angell Animal Medical Center earlier this month when he was near death from heatstroke. Thanks to veterinary intervention, he was treated and recovered.
Today, Rocco is living at Nevins Farm until a wonderful adopter is found. “Rocco’s been through the worst that summer temperatures can throw at any dog, and on top of that his former owner abandoned him,” said Mike Keiley, director of adoption centers and programs at the MSPCA-Angell. “But the last thing we’re going to do is abandon Rocco. We’re going to pull out all the stops to find him the most loving and safe home that we can.”
