An Ohio woman was arrested after she allegedly hurled a cat from a 17th-story balcony in Euclid last Sunday night. As reported by News 5 Cleveland, the cruel incident took place during an argument between roommates at the Harbor Crest apartments.
The woman accused of the cruel act is identified as 24-year-old Melissa Thornton. Thornton is accused of first throwing a bicycle from the balcony, and then the cat. The cat suffered severe injuries and had to be humanely euthanized by officers who responded to the scene.
Thornton was arrested and is facing a felony count of cruelty to animals; she is due in court on August 20.
