Animal shelter kennels are empty

Less than a week ago, a Tennessee animal shelter was overwhelmed by the intake of 40 dogs who were seized from a local rescuer’s home. Fast forward to today and the response to the Memphis Animal Services’ plea for help is amazing.

The animal welfare agency posted a heartwarming image of empty kennels and wrote:

🥁🥁🥁 Drumroll, please…🥁🥁🥁

Today our staff is celebrating! Dog Room A is COMPLETELY empty! (Not pictured, among many other employees, are our two full-time vets who could not leave the clinic because they were doing surgery on all these pets who got adopted!)

After Memphis Animal Services had an emergency cruelty case intake of 40 dogs (with only 4 open kennels), the Memphis community stepped up in a HUGE way to help. In the last four days, we have had 221 pets leave be rescued, adopted, or fostered!

The shelter thanked those who stepped up to help:

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to every single person who has played a role in helping so many animals over the past few days

Great job everyone!!
