A stunning, senior German shepherd has been sitting at a busy California animal control agency for weeks. Why doesn’t anyone want to give him a home? Gretzky is eight-years-old and still looks incredibly handsome – he has been at the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena since March 15 and his looks, and demeanor, have not resulted in an adoption.

🚨 Shelter is Filling up! 🚨
Please take another look at Handsome GRETZKY, he has really beautiful energy and he’s been in the Shelter a MONTH!
This beautiful boy showed up with no tag or chip and he needs help, there are so many Shepherds needing help in the shelter. Please SHARE for his life, he’s SUCH a dreamboat and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save him. Thanks!
He went off to explore the yard, keeping
to himself and showing no concerning behavior. He would occasionally engage with the other dogs and but preferred to be alone. He was easy to steer and would come to handler to solicit petting when corrected. His preferred playstyle is gentle/dainty and he is social with the other dogs. He will be available for public adoption with children middle school aged or older, Large dogs are OK.
Is it Gretzky’s age the problem? Is eight years old “too old” for him to be considered for adoption? This beautiful dog still has a lot of life in him – he deserves to be sharing his life with someone who will love and appreciate him. Please take a moment to share this article and help him find a loving new owner.
